Happy Birthday Galileo

Galileo Galilei was born in the Itallian city of Pisa on Feb 15, 1564. Among his numerous achievements was the production of an improved telescope that allowed him to make astronomical observations. He has been called the "Father of Astronomy". He discovered the Moons of Jupiter, the phases of Venus, craters and mountains on the Moon and made detailed observations of suspots. His work led him to support the Heliocentric theroy of Copernicus, which famously brought him into conflict with the Catholic Church.
